Clay Leath
President
What are your main responsibilities?
My main responsibility is to guide the company and the people; making sure everyone has what they need to do their job well and planning for the future of the company.
What is your favorite part of the manufacturing process?
My favorite part probably would be seeing the results of taking a raw piece of material and watching it turn into a pristinely finished part. You can really see the skill that goes into creating these parts.
What are your key strengths?
Patience, common sense, and attention to detail with an analytical mindset.
Do you have any outstanding achievements, degrees, or certifications?
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Technologies from North Carolina A&T as a minority student, after completing my Associates Degree at the local community college.
How long have you worked at L&R?
Oh, about 10 years now.
What got you into the industry?
I started working at a screw machine job shop back when I was 18. I had my own little shop when I was 17, but actually began moving machinery when I was 15. It developed from there into an interest to learn more about the machines I was helping to move.
Any fun personal tidbits?
I’m big into conservation and quail habitats. I run a farm for wildlife conservation and quail habitats in particular.
Jackie Satterfield
VP of Finance
What are your main responsibilities?
I am responsible for processing the financial activities and analyzing data in order to make strategic decisions. I am also the Human Resource Manager.
What are your key strengths?
My key strengths include time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Do you have any outstanding achievements, degrees, or certifications?
I have my Master of Business Administration.
How long have you worked at L&R, and what got you into the industry?
I’ve been with L&R since 1997. Until my interview, I had never considered how certain things got made. Now, I get to watch skilled employees transform a piece of metal into amazing things.
Any fun personal tidbits?
I’m a certified EMT.
Matt Boozer

What is your favorite part of the manufacturing process?
What truly excites me in my role is the constant drive to optimize every facet of our manufacturing operations. From refining how we source raw materials to ensuring the efficiency of our production lines and maintaining the highest standards of quality control, every step in our process is an opportunity for improvement.
Seeing these improvements directly benefit you, our valued customers, is what fuels my passion. It’s not just about enhancing internal processes; it’s about delivering products that exceed your expectations in terms of quality, reliability, and timeliness.

I have two Bachelor’s degrees and several certifications, which have honed my skills in manufacturing. They provide a solid foundation that I’ve applied successfully in my career.
How long have you worked at L&R?
I started at L&R in the first part of 2022.
What got you into the industry?
I was drawn to the Manufacturing industry due to my deep-seated fascination with understanding intricate mechanics and the process behind creating products. This passion for comprehending how things work and are produced has been a driving force in my desire to pursue a career in manufacturing.
Any fun personal tidbits?
I served eight years in the United States Marine Corps.
David Pritchett
Quality Manager
What are your main responsibilities?
My main responsibilities are making sure every part we make meets the standards of L&R and our customers. I also aide machinist in making sure they have what they need to inspect their parts as they go.
What is your favorite part of the manufacturing process?
From a quality standpoint, my favorite part of the manufacturing process is seeing all the different avenues that one single part can be made and inspected.
What are your key strengths?
I think one of my biggest strengths is having 12 years of machining experience. Being in quality and having that knowledge I feel better equipped to help machinist if they are having issues with certain dimensions with understanding their setup and where the problem is could be coming from.
Do you have any outstanding achievements, degrees, or certifications?
I have a certificate from our local community college for machining and programming. I also have a programming certificate from our CMM manufacturer.
How long have you worked at L&R?
I have been at L&R since December of 2019. II found an interest in the manufacturing industry from being in an assembly environment for a part time job through high school. Once I graduated, having the opportunity to see how the parts I was assembling were actually made sparked my interest.
Any fun personal tidbits?
I enjoy spending time with my family on our farm working with our different animals.
Steve Moore
Production Control Manager
What are your main responsibilities?
Material & Tooling Procurement / Sending orders for Subcontract Work / etc.
What is your favorite part of the manufacturing process?
The best part is building relationships with suppliers for raw materials and subcontract work.
What are your key strengths?
Multi-tasking, Problem Solving, and 30 years of experience in this field as a Machinist & Purchasing
Do you have any outstanding achievements, degrees, or certifications?
I earned a 4-year degree in the Machining Program from my local college.
What got you into the industry, and how long have you worked at L&R?
I started as a Machinist Apprentice in the late 90’s and then joined L&R about 16 years ago.
Ben Hudson
Account Manager
What are your main responsibilities?
Estimating/Quoting, Sales: I’m the first line of contact for my accounts.
What is your favorite part of the manufacturing process?
When we complete a flawless part with such precision that it makes you feel proud, that’s my favorite part.
What are your key strengths?
My greatest strength is using empathy and honesty to care for my accounts and customers.
Do you have any outstanding achievements, degrees, or certifications?
I have a 2-year associate degree in Machine Technology and a certificate in CNC Programming.
What got you into the industry?
Talks with friends and my dad, who were already in the local industry, convinced me to give it a go.
Any fun personal tidbits?
I enjoy competitive bass fishing.
Dave Hale
Account Manager
What are your main responsibilities?
Understand my customers’ needs, find a solution within our ability, and build a process to deliver what they want.
What is your favorite part of the manufacturing process?
My favorite part is building the method to achieve form, fit, and function.
What are your key strengths?
Analytical systems thinking.
Do you have any outstanding achievements, degrees, or certifications?
BBA Project Management
How long have you worked at L&R?
I started at L&R in 2021.
What got you into the industry?
Growing up, I helped with rebuilding worn-out equipment on the family farm.
Any fun personal tidbits?
I am a homebrewer and a gardener.
Tyler May
Shop Foreman
What are your main responsibilities?
My responsibilities include making sure quality parts are manufactured on time, continually improving our machining skills and ability, leadership of shop floor personnel, interviewing and hiring new members to our team, working with Account Managers when assistance is needed on quoting parts or accomplishing any special request by customers, working with Quality Control in producing parts that are up to L&R standards, working with the General Manager and Owner in guiding the company toward our united vision.
What is your favorite part of the manufacturing process?
Manufacturing parts that I’m proud to hand over to the customer from only a block of metal, a print, and a model.

Do you have any outstanding achievements, degrees, or certifications?
In 2008, I completed the Machine Shop Program at CVCC in Lynchburg, VA. I enjoy helping others accomplish their goals in life, and I’m proud to be a leader within my field.
How long have you worked at L&R?
I started with L&R in March of 2020.
What got you into the industry?
I’ve always been drawn to making things. I still have a passion for crafting things with my hands and problem-solving. The machining field has suited me well. I’ve been a Machinist since 2009.

I’m a Man of Faith and an active leader within the Church. I’m happily married to my wife and small business partner, Lisa.
